Eh, don't really get that, but...whatever. I guess the reason why I have a hard time believing Kenny even owend a Alakazam was because we only saw it once, his Breloom and Prinplup got a lot more screen time than Alakazam ever did. But we have to wait, because who knows, we might see it again....I see Kenny also has a water-type starter like Gary, hmm, and, if Prinplup evolves into Empoleon while Dawn's Piplup never evolves, we are going to have something sort of similar to Ash owning Squirtle, which never evolved, and Gary owning Blastoise fully evolved from his Squirtle.
Come to think of it. Chimchar is really the same as Charmander. Both were shunned by their trainers. But would Monferno obey Ash like Charmeleon didn't?
Regarding Chimchar, I'm not sure if I'll really like it if it became just like Charmeleon after evolving into Monferno, but, maybe it's personality could change, but not in a way in which it starts disobeying Ash, Monferno could be...I dunno, more aggresive than it's pre-evolved form or something like that, or it could be aggresive, but still have some of it's happy-nature that it had as a Chimchar.
